(More customer reviews)These little wonders are a perfect price point. They come in different heights, are easily available and most importantly, They WORK. Beginners find them very comfortable and it gives them a great start in learning how to find a perfect balance point. They also make them in different heights now. They squish into the cases easily enough and come in purple as well as black for performance. I have known some professionals who have used this and they rave on and on about something so simple that actually works! I too, have used them on occasion, and find them far superior to the other basic brands out there. If you are a player you know what I mean. I refer to it as, THE PURPLE SPONGE. They really are a genuis and great solution for a blend of squish, fit and support that's hard to beat.

Every thing done according to specifications and iam fully satisfied with this violin. Its an excellent instrument for this price range. Only thing i dont like is the bow supplied with the vilon. Its not made of wood and hence jerks.It would have been nice if they included a wooden bow instead of this fibre one.

(More customer reviews)My experience with this product is great. I decided to start learning how to play violin. I decided to start with a cheap one. This one seemed like the way to go because the only negative reviews I read were contradicted by the helpful description. I paid only about 20 dollars for shipping and that was to receive it 3 days after I ordered. When I got it I just followed the instructions they sent to my email, installed the bridge, and tuned it. Then I plucked the strings to stretch them and retune a few times and before long they stopped slipping. It took a while, and reading up on rosin before I could get the bow to work but now I'm good to go, very happy with my purchase, and ready to find an instructor.

I've played an outdoor picnic and at church with it so far, using a mid size Martin guitar and SM58, and I'm very pleased with the purchase. Definitely the best acoustic amp on the market for the money IMO.

Gator Cases Deluxe ABS Full-Size Violin Case for 4/4-Size Violin Review

Desiring more rugged protection for my primary violin, I purchased this sturdy case.
There were several critical issues with this case.
1. This case was too narrow to accommodate either of my two (dimensionally typical) 4/4 "real" violins or my (somewhat slim) electric violin.
2. The bottom bow holder wasn't deep enough for a full sized bow (manufacturing defect?)
3. The "lining" of the case, while soft, was a shaggy substance, certain to capture rosin and eventually damage the violin's oil/varnish.
4. The top bow holder, while deep enough, exerted _sideways_ pressure on the bow (which will ruin a wood bow).
