(More customer reviews)After playing violin for years and having several violin teachers my bowhand suffered a personality disorder. Trying to reclaim the beautiful tone I once had, I bought this contraption to help my bow changes, etc. It does work to make the bowhand less stressful.
The cons is that you can't fit your bow into your violin case, so you always will have to remove it before packing it into your instrument. It can interfere with the wiring around your bow and also the pad that is there.

Every thing done according to specifications and iam fully satisfied with this violin. Its an excellent instrument for this price range. Only thing i dont like is the bow supplied with the vilon. Its not made of wood and hence jerks.It would have been nice if they included a wooden bow instead of this fibre one.

It always falls off the violin and we spend half the lesson picking it up off the floor. Sure it's cheap, but you will either hate your practice time and put up with it, or you will immediately purchase a more expensive and higher quality shoulder rest. Save yourself the step and buy a Kun, Wolf, or Bon Musica shoulder rest instead. It's best to try it in a store so you can see how it feels with your unique body shape and then shop around online for the best price.

But they misunderstood my permission to the new and still made me wait for the wood bow. It finally got delivered and it was "cracked". Sent an email and pics of the "cracked bow". No one replied. I was not happy with all of this.. I sent them again another email and i will see if they will reply this time. I paid extra for fast delivery and still have wait and now a cracked wood bow. When can I play this violin? Never?

(More customer reviews)After unpacking, tuning, & playing this violin, I found all it needed was a set of quality strings! After changing the strings and re-tuning, the sound was fantastic! After the break-in period for the new strings, I suspect it will sound even better! This violin is pleasing to the eye, well-made, nice finish. The inside of the violin states it is made in Romania with european wood. It is a copy of a Stradivarius. It does have a solid maple back and sides, the back is not highly flamed, which I expected for the price, but who looks at the back of the violin while you are playing??? It was easy to tune and after playing for several minutes and re-tuning, it seems to be staying in tune. This violin is above-average for the price, very nice! I don't like the thermoplastic case, but I can live with it, the violin itself is worth it! Also worth mentioning, is the case has a special place for a shoulder rest. If you order this violin, pick up some rosin somewhere, because they don't send you any - again, no big deal. Why waste your money on a cheap "Made in Ch___" violin from a music shop, when you can spend an extra $50.00 and have a really nice violin? I will recommend to my students! THANK YOU AMAZON!

The Alfred Suzuki Violin School Volume 5 Revised includes both the book and and instructional CD. Like the other revised violin books in the Suzuki series, the music has been edited by the International Violin Committee. The Suzuki violin instruction book offers new engravings in a more easily readable 12" x 9" format. There are no changes to the repertoire in Book 5, but there are some changes in fingerings and bowings to reflect more current performance practice and music pedagogy. There are some additional technical exercises including 3-octave G Major and G Minor scales and arpeggios.The revised CD complementing the book includes new recordings by William Preucil, Concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra. The piano accompaniment is performed by Linda Perry on acoustic piano. These performances were recorded without reference to a metronome and have a human feel to them. I purchased this shoulder rest to find a comfortable fit for my violin, shoulder, and chin, after several attempts with standard shoulder rests. It is an amazing piece of equipment. It can be adjusted in numerous ways to achieve a customized fit. The extended, curved, left end can be bent to fit the violinist's shoulder and prevent the instrument from sliding off without requiring extensive down pressure from the chin. It is a little more expense than other standard shoulder rests, but it is definitely worth the price. I recommend this shoulder rest to any beginner who may be having trouble achieving a comfortable, relaxed bond with your violin.

(More customer reviews)When I first tried to tune the violin I applied pressure to the D peg and the scroll broke from the fingerboard! It wasn't a lot of pressure so I assume there was a crack or a weak spot in the wood. Needless to say I contacted (emailed) customer support and was pleasantly surprised when they agreed to replace the violin at no charge (not even shipping)! The new violin arrived and I was able to tune it fine. My five year old son has been performing around the house almost everyday!
Now a word about the quality. Would I buy this brand to perform professionally? No. This is an inexpensive introduction to the violin - it is a massed produced product that I think is wonderful at this price. Beautiful to look at and my son loves it - nuff said.

Violinsmart Natural Color Student Violin Size 3/4 Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased this violin thinking it would be a good "starter" to see if my son enjoyed playing the violin enough to buy or rent a good one. It looked good, but unfortunately his teacher said it wouldn't hold a tune even through one lesson.
So I contently decided to return it October 1st after 2 weeks assuming I would have a hassle-free return. What I was really unsatisfied with was Austin Bazaar's return process, which took over 7 weeks, during which time they only contacted me once to request that I "remove my comments from Amazon" (all I had done was click "Leave Seller Feedback"), and to say the delay was probably due to something I had done wrong or that it had only been a couple days since they received it. I followed strictly all their return requirements and shipped it back with Delivery Confirmation and insurance (USPS). Austin Bazaar received and signed for the violin at 9:47am on OCTOBER 5th. They never responded again to my emails, and I just received notice only from Amazon of a credit on NOVEMBER 23rd. The credit was for the original shipping and the violin, but I still had to cover the return shipping/delivery confirmation/insurance, plus them having my money for nearly 3 months from the time of purchase.

To my surprise my parents picked this up for me. I attempted to tune it and the high e string broke. Not surprising. As a rule, ALWAYS put new string on an instrument right away. The strings it came with were old and low quality. Also be sure to clean the instrument. I was disturbed by the amount of filth that came off the finger board. When i was done with setting it up and such, the instrument i was left with was astounding. The sound and depth is very nice, and the finish is stunning. I'm very happy with it. The case is nice, but it did need to be cleaned. the bows are passable, the rosin..... buy new rosin.

(More customer reviews)I bought this violin to start my daughter on, and it's been perfectly serviceable. The natural wood and real horsehair bow were a pleasant surprise in an instrument with this price point, and the instrument itself exceeded my (admittedly low) expectations. I grew up a violinist, so I knew I would not be getting the highest quality instrument for this price, but for a child just starting to play, you want an instrument that you won't have weep over if it does happen to get dropped facedown on the floor, or if your child decides to move on to piano or flute instead. This violin fit the bill. It is well-enough put together to learn on, stay in tune, and have passable tone. The only problem I had was that the mass-produced bridge had to be filed down by a luthier to fit the strings properly, but that cost me less than $20 and made all the difference. The case was of higher quality than I expected and my daughter loves the backpack straps. Good starter package.
