(More customer reviews)I bought this violin so I could practice quietly in my new apartment, since I have neighbors on both sides. It does the trick! I would never use it for performance, simply because the sound quality isn't awesome, but it is perfect or practicing. The headphones are absolute junk, so I don't use those, but I use my bose headphones. The strings understandably stretched quite a bit at first, so it was hard to keep it in tune, but after about 3 days, we were good to go with just minor adjustments. I like the fact that I can use my regular shoulder rest with it. My fingers did turn a little black from the fingerboard or strings at first, but that is minor and didn't last. Overall, I feel that I got quite a bargain, but again, it is perfect for practice but not at all a performance instrument.

(More customer reviews)I really like this bow. I could immediately feel and hear the difference from my older bow, a Glasser fiberglass with real hair. At first , I thought this new bow was too lite-weight, but when I began playing, the strings came alive with a beautiful mellow sound that I found to be so much easier to control and produce. I now practice only with this bow. I want to order another of the same bow as my back-up. Also, I love the color of this bow. It matches the color of my violin. I have yet to use a real expensive bow, but I imagine it could not be much better than this one.

(More customer reviews)This rosin is a very ancient rosin. It is very light but effective. As with any rosin after you are done playing clean it off your strings and instrument. It makes your bow more.....I cant really describe it except it is great. INDESCRIBABLE! I have had mine for three years, never had a problem with it. You could find it cheaper at a local musical instrument store, but if no one has one around you then just save a dime a day in a jar. But, I am one of millions of string players. IT DEPENDS ON YOUR CLIMATE! I live in a west texas climate and it works perfectly. My cousin in Florida didnt like it, but when she moved to cleveland in the summer she used it and used it alot. So HOPE THIS HELPS! 4 stars since it depends on YOUR CLIMATE!

This device so far seems to function quite properly, once you figure out how to operate its buttons. Despite implying a relatively low-complexity cognitive interface, this tuner provides a perfect example of not-user-centered and not-user-friendly product design. For example, you have to struggle for some time with its buttons to finally discover where you turn the thing off. You are obliged to learn and to memorize its idiosyncratic logic. The sequence of buttons is also counter-intuitive. There are different functions (whose mutual association is not logical, nor intuitive) which, however, share the same physical buttons. Why have a poor, frustrating design, when good design is not any more expensive to manufacture?

(More customer reviews)D and A strings are very full, warm and mellow sounding, G string sounds pretty decent on a open note but it sounds a little muffled when you use your fingers on it and it is a little flubbery, E string is a little tinnie sounding, the break in time is very quick within about a week of putting them on and they do not need adjusted very much after that, overall for the price they are a pretty decent set of strings. they are a lot better sounding than any of the steel core strings I have tried such as D'addario Prelude.
