This violin kit comes complete with violin, bow, case, rosin, and a free violin tuner worth $20. Violin comes with a metal tailpiece with 4 tuners - making tuning easy. The bow comes with real horsehair providing solid playability and sound volume. Violin comes with bridge already setup and ready to play. Violin top is hand carved solid spruce and violin back is hand carve solid maple. The violin also comes with real inlaid purfling on both the violin top and back. Fingerboard, chinrest and tuning pegs are made out of hardwood. Bow comes with this violin kit is made out of round stick and Mongolian horsehair with rosewood frog. The kit also includes 1 rosin. The violin case is light weight made out of foam and covered with nylon. The well fitted interior design protects violin from excessive movement while in transit. Velcro neck strap holds the violin securely from movement. A matching blanket is included to further protect the violin against loose bows and items in the case. There are 2 bow holders in the case. Violin neck/head area is large enough to hold shoulder rest. There is an accessory compartment for storing rosin, strings, etc. (3" Width by 3-1/2" Length by 2-1/2" Depth). Case has outside pocket for holding music and accessories. 1 adjustable shoulder strap is included allowing carrying the case over the shoulder - taking violin to lesson, school or orchestra practice is made easy. The free tuner included is to help you tune the violin. The tuner can tune all 4 strings. The tuner is also a guitar tuner and a chromatic tuner all in one. (More customer reviews)This is a good adjustable shoulder rest. It does feel very comfortable. It would have been 5 star if there is any manual about how to use it.
The shoulder rest is a bit too high for 5 year old, but it will work much better in a year or two.

Cremona SV-175 Premier Student Violin, 1/10-Size Review

(More customer reviews)We purchased this violin for our 3-year-old daughter. She is now 4. She is doing well with this violin. The stings were replaced with Thomastik Dominant Violin Strings. This improved the sound quality nicely. Very pleased with the violin and would suggest this violin, yet the strings that come with the violin are not the best quality. Yet, lets be realistic. There is [almost] no violin in this price range, and this size that will come with anything but the least expensive strings. A little up grade on the strings and you will have a violin that you will be pleased with. The structure and construction of the violin is completed well. The finish is fine. The pegs, fingerboard, body, and wood quality are of good quality materials. The fine tuners work well. Very pleased for this price. Went to local brick and mortar music stores and they wanted about $500 - $600 for the same or similar instrument. I would suggest this violin and give it a positive review.

(More customer reviews)I purchased the SV-150 Premier Student Violin 1/10-size for my 3.5 year old as her first violin. We just got it today and tuned it and I did a little playing (as much as I could since my hands are way too big for it). I was impressed with the sound from such a small instrument. I showed her how to hold the violin and bow and it is the perfect size for her (her neck to palm was approximately 15 inches). She is excited that it looks as pretty and *real* as my much more expensive full size violin. When putting rosin on the new bow I had to use my "broken in" rosin to really get it coated properly instead of the new rosin included.
If my daughter keeps up an interest in playing we will purchase the same violin in the next size up.

I wish the hair on the bow was a little better, but overall if your looking for a nice "beginner" and I mean "beginner" fiddle (between 2 and 3 years old this is perfect! Nice case and it's a pretty little thing, you can start with the very basic's on this fiddle for little hands. Holding the bow and how to hold the fiddle. And if you can keep the bow rosened the sound is ok. Nice purchase and I will buy the next size up when time!!!! Nice for the price!
