(More customer reviews)this tuner seems to be a little touchy and inconsistent as far as quick accurate tuning is concerned. this is in terms of when the green display lights up instead of the red. the green lights up when you're in the neighborhood, not just when you are Right On the note. i would prefer it were more discriminating about when it gives you "the green light". but it is an inexpensive tuner, so maybe it's just the "you get what you pay for" maxim. if i had it to do over again, i would probably keep looking ...

(More customer reviews)I'm a music teacher and I have several tuner/metronomes, but got this one because one of my students who is colorblind had one. I really liked it at first (the back light is pretty) and does not rely on color recognition to determine pitch accuracy. However, no matter how I configure it, the A pitch won't tune properly. This one is probably damaged, leaving me with the feeling that I wish I'd purchased an Intelli; at least I'd know it would work properly.

The tuner clamps quickly and easily onto the headstock of your instrument. The articulated mount allows you to easily maneuver the display for easy viewing. Pluck a string, and the readout shows you the closest note - and uses a simple system of arrows to show you if you're spot on or just close. Comes with a nice little protective sleeve and fits easily into the accessory box of most instrument cases.
Caution: the instructions that come with the tuner are poorly written and needlessly confusing. Suggestion: unless you need to tune off-pitch for some reason, simply do the self-test as described, just to make sure it's working properly, then clamp on, set it for the A440 mode and tune away. Takes only moments, the tune is highly accurate.

This new version is worse in several ways -- most importantly, (1) the clamp material is slippery so it slides off the bell of my oboe rather than staying in place, and (2) the device no longer includes a carrying case. The carrying case was important because the mechanism is very fragile, yet it's too big to slip into any "little spot" within my instrument case.

Fishman V-200-M Professional Violin Pickup w/mini Mic Review

(More customer reviews)I received this product new with the mini Mic not soldered onto the 1/4" jack. The customer support from Fishman was so difficult to deal with regarding this problem I had to pay a Fishman 3rd party repair person to fix the problem.
That said, the contact mic is decent but the mini Mic is practically useless and picks up almost no sound. A good contact mic and good preamp work just as well. I've used this pickup for classical, jazz, and rock styles- the contact mic helps when playing with drums or other loud instruments, but a functioning mini Mic would have made this product good for solo work as well.

The red to green back light is bright and clearly tells you when your in tune. This is a must for any acoustic guitarist. Built in mics are inaccurate and are disrupted by ambient noise, and because this tuner goes off vibration you are receiving and accurate reading. Though it can be used with electric guitars I think plugging an electric guitar into your standard chromatic tuner is more accurate.
So if you own an acoustic guitar I highly recommend this product you wont be disappointed.

They are beatiful! It is easier to tune to the most accurate! Fine tuners are a thing of the past (EXCEPT E String for violin, but viola take them all off)! 3 Stars for overall price, and good looks and accuracy.
