It is elegantly contoured, providing sweet ergonomics. I recommend this violin shoulder pad for every player, regardless of age or experience. After receiving this one and trying it out, I retired a Willy Wolf that I had been using and periodically restoring for more than 50 years, since I was an early teenager!
