(More customer reviews)I purchased this violin for my 78 year old mother that use to play when she was much younger. Figured if she didnt end up playing at least it was nice looking and she could use it as decoration. Before giving her the violin for her Birthday I took it to a very dependable music store to make sure it was in tune and all before giving it to her. Since I have no musical background myself thought this would be the best route to take.
The gentlemen at the store told me they usually will not tune them due to the fact of the quality of them, that either the pegs break or the neck when inserting the bridge (which comes unassembled in shipping). Well what was so dreaded actually did while put the bridge in the neck cracked all the way across. Not talking a small hairline fracture, this was an all out break. Was very disapointed due to the fact I had planned on giving it to her the next day. I had read other review on it before purchasing it, in which they had stated it was a great beginner violin. Well never really had the chance to even find that out. So my overall rating for this item is very poor.
