(More customer reviews)I was quite pleased when I received the K&M Violin stand. The construction is sturdy and the stand is easily and quickly assembled and disassembled . The stand is light in weight and takes up very little room when put away. The design is such that your violin is protected so you do not have to worry about the stand scratching or damaging your instrument, nor do you have to worry about the stand falling over. I expect to get years of use from this stand. I was looking strictly for a stand and had not desired to have a place to hang the bow or a place to hold my rosin--if you are looking for those extra amenities, look elsewhere. I soundly recommend this stand and the folks at Johnson String are top-notch--delivery time is expedient and the packaging keeps your order secure. Should you need to contact them for any reason, you hear back from them in short order and they are most helpful.

THEY ADVERTISE A STAND THAT IS LITE AND EASY TO CARRY AND THAT'S WHAT IT IS,IF YOU THINK IT IS TO LITE, MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN A STAND THAT DIDN'T HAVE THE WORD LITE IN ITS NAME. IF YOU FEAR THAT A BUMP MAY KNOCK IT OVER I WOULD SAY BUY A STAND WITH 4 LEGS AND PUT YOUR VIOLIN IN A LESS TRAVELED PART OF THE ROOM. I HAVE 2 MID SIZED DOGS IN MY HOUSE SO I MAKE SURE MY VIOLIN IS PLACED IN A SAFE SPOT IN THE ROOM. THE STAND SEEMS TO BE REASONABLY WELL MADE,I LOVE THE AUTO LOCK SYSTEM AND THE LITTLE TRAY FOR ROSIN IS NICE AND IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE TRAY THEN DO NOT PUT IT ON. I THINK IT'S A COOL STAND THAT IS NO MORE OR LESS THAN WHAT IS ADVERTISED.IT WILL HOLD A VIOLIN WITH A SHOULDER REST ATTACHED,MAY NOT DO THE SAME WITH A VIOLA.

(More customer reviews)This stand folds up nicely in an over the shoulder travel bag. There is enough extra space in the bag for my Kun shoulder rest. The stand is nice. I never worry about the violin falling out. This stand has a place to put your rosin, which many other stands do not have. I also have an Ingles stand, which is also good, but I definitely prefer the Hercules stand. Both stands work great for a mandolin too.

(More customer reviews)This is made of flimsy plastic. It does not slide onto the music stand firmly; the littl flap supposed to secure it to the lip of the music stand was wayyy tooo tight and can not push it without scratching the stand or break it... nah...waste of $$.
I went to the music store and found the metal String Swing brand that handtight and easy to remove, very sturdy, and I love it. Great for use to place the violin/viola and bow on when needed to take a break from practice, but just want to mention that it make turning pages very difficult because the small bulky metal box for screw on is in the way.

Neither kid is terribly artsy or in to material things, but they seem to "get" that we wanted to give them a little something special and I think they'll try to keep these throughout their lives. The burling is very pretty and the box is well-finished. None of us here can provide expert comment on the rosin, but it does seem to work just fine on their student-level instruments.

It is very sturdy and safe to tighten onto the music stand (I recommend finger tight and leave the plastic over on the screw). I left my violin out all the time so I can quickly get to it for practice anytime. quickly hang the violin and bow for taking a break. You can take it with you to orchestra practiceand hang your violin during break, but it would be hard to turn pages.

This violin stand is top notch. I don't think you could improve on the design. It adjusts for the height of your instrument and the bow hook also adjusts to various heights. It folds quickly and compactly so you can tuck it out of the way if necessary or of course is terrific for carrying with you.
Excellent violin stand. Highly recommend both the stand and the Johnson String Instrument company.
