(More customer reviews)I bought this instrument as a starter viola for my eight-year-old daughter. It is a very nice quality instrument, comes with a very good case, and a number of great accessories. The bow is very good, and is real horsehair, which is not the case with a lot of bargain instruments. You should be aware, though, that it is not ready to use right out of the box. It will require set-up by a professional violin-maker. In our case, the bridge needed to be upgraded and the strings needed to be replaced. The pegs also required additional carving so that they would not slip during tuning. All in all, with the cost of the parts and the labor, as well as a spare set of strings, I spent just under $200 more on it. I still feel that I got a good deal, and my daughter is enjoying playing it very much.
