I thought that since buying is cheaper than renting for next 6 months, why not (despite the music teacher's recommendation)? Boy, was I wrong. This thing may look like a violin, but no way does it sound like a violin. It's a cheap toy! This thing produces no sound. Likewise, the string adjuster spins on its own so that you cannot tighten to control the tune. What a piece of junk! My recommendation is not to purchase this product to any unsuspecting buyer.
