Boss ME25 Guitar Multi Effect Pedal Review

Boss ME25 Guitar Multi Effect Pedal

This compact pedal/stompbox/pc DAW interface/tuner/loop station is so far the best pedal investment I've made. It is simple to use right out of the box. Although I would like to be able to make changes on the fly in a more simple manner, I love it. I am still on the same set of batteries I started with a month ago. Compared to my Fender VG strat (loves to eat battereies) that is a miracle. I've yet to take advantage of the DAW interface or Looping feature.
I am a fan of the SRV/Hendrix changy (Super Reverb/Ibanez Tube Screamer) tones and I get that nicely from this pedal. It fits neatly into my gig bag (fishing tackle bag) along with my cables and other gear. I love the Boost and Solo button as well. It really adds the umph when you need it. I like that Boss has a consistent interface across all of their products so you are automatically somewhat familiar if you have other Boss products. The only issue is that I wish the manual was more comprehensive.
Overall, I love it!

The Boss ME-25 multi-effects pedal provides a collection of additional sounds and features over the previous ME unit at the same price. This Boss guitar pedal includes a completely redesigned operating system which allows the entire product to operate in "EZ-Tone" mode, making the Boss ME-25 simple to use. There are added effects, COSM amp models, and a USB port for direct connection to computers. The ME-25 effects pedal is bundled with Cakewalk Sonar 8 LE and a DVD providing over one hundred audio loops that can be imported into Sonar for jamming or practice. The Boss ME-25's 60 onboard programs are organized into a Sound Library, which enables all the onboard tones to be selected simply by type. This built-in sound library gives you instant access to dozens of classic and modern effects. Simply choose a category, select a variation and play. You can customize your sound with simple twists of the Drive, Tone, and Volume knobs. COSM (Composite Object Sound Modeling)Composite Object Sound Modeling—or "COSM" for short—is Boss/Roland's innovative and powerful technology that's used to digitally recreate the sound of classic musical instruments and effects. COSM analyzes the many factors that make up the original sound—including its electrical and physical characteristics—and creates a digital model that accurately reproduces the original.

Boss TU-3 Chromatic Pedal Tuner Review

Boss TU-3 Chromatic Pedal Tuner

This is a newer tuner by Boss with double the accuracy from their old tuners. Boss added more lights to the front panel so it is easier to see how off you are out of tune. The battery is easy to change (no tools needed) and the lights are pretty bright to see in the sun. Of course, the pedal mutes the instrument when it's tapped, so this is great to tune up between songs. I use this for my violin, paired with the Boss EQ pedal, which makes the perfect combo for a musician on stage. Runs on a single 9 volt that lasts many many hours. Just remember to UNPLUG the input 1/4" jack when you're not going to use it for a while, otherwise it will drain the battery

One of the world's top-selling stage tuner, the BOSS TU-2, has evolved and improved into the TU-3 pedal tuner. Housed in a tank-tough BOSS stompbox body, the TU-3 chromatic tuner features a smooth 21-segment LED meter with a High-Brightness mode that cuts through the harshest outdoor glare. Choose between Chromatic or Guitar/Bass tuning modes. Accu-Pitch Sign gives you pinpoint visual verification that tuning is complete. The BOSS TU-3 tuner incorporates a convenient Note Name Indicator that can display notes of 7-string guitars and 6-string basses, while the Flat-Tuning mode can support up to six half-steps. It's the kind of instrument pedal tuner that no performing guitarist or bass player should be without.

If you get a Boss product that does not come with this then you need to buy one. I got the BR 600 which takes 6 batteries. Now I don't know about you but I can't afford to be buying 6 batteries every week.
