(More customer reviews)I recently bought this violin for my daughter to start her violin lessons.
Its a nice violin that has a pretty rich sound for a student model. Even her instructor was impressed as she says that the SV225 is much better than the ones they rent or sell at the music school.
My daughter is 9, so we went with the 3/4 size and so far, we have been pleased with the decent quality for the low price. All these sub $500 violins are mass produced in China so thats what makes them affordable. However, Saga Music did a pretty good job with their premier student line and I have to say that it is a fine instrument for the audience it was intended for. There is a hydrogmeter to measure the humidity. Not sure how useful it will be since we are not moving or buying a humidor for the violin but neverless, the case has one.
The case is decent. Its not as strong as a fiberglass case but it will do the job.
Good job Saga. We will buy another violin when she is ready for a full size one granted she is still playing by then.
