(More customer reviews)First, let me start with the shipping, it was on time with no damages, so that's a good start. I bought this violin for my 8 year old, and the 1/2 size is just perfect for her size. I had taken the violin to a music store here to get an extra set of strings and when the store owner looked at the violin he asked me if I wanted cheap strings or if I wanted the good quality strings like the ones that were on the violin already. My 8 year old loves this violin, makes a beautiful sound, I bought her that "jade" colored rosin for her bow. There are no problems with the pegs loosening up or anything like that so the violin doesn't need to be "re-tuned" very often. The violin came neatly packaged inside its case, no setup of any kind was required, except, of course, tuning the strings and rubbing rosin on the bow which I can hardly even think of as "setup". I'm not a violin expert, the only other violin I ever owned was when I was a teenager and that was stolen from me, but what I can say is that this violin has given me no problems yet and it makes a very beautiful sound.
