Regular KUN shoulder rest was too much for her, so I needed something thinner, smaller, possibly something we can leave attached to violin without taking it on and off each time she uses the violin. I've seen these foam pads used with Suzuki method and decided to try. Bought this one. It is really useless. It collapses to nothing. Foam is just too soft. The only thing it does is helps with traction, so the violin isn't so slippery on the shoulder. Any piece of cloth attached with rubber band would do the same thing.
I guess you get what you paid for and for $1.80 we didn't loose much. However, I think I will just look for a stronger piece of sponge at craft store and not buy another brand online. I can at least feel it and cut it just the right size.
Can't wait for my daughter to use a regular, nice shoulder rest.

Basic economy foam pad provides excellent support and padding for beginning players. Made of comfortable open cell foam, and comes in three sizes to accommodate most sizes: 4/4-3/4, 3/4-1/2, and 1/4-1/8. Attaches to the instrument with rubber bands (not included).
